How to Apply for Rechecking of 12th Class Result 2026 at Any Board

Apply for rechecking within 10 to 15 days of the result. Rechecking at Pakistani boards means re-totalling your marks, not re-evaluating your answers. A fee is charged per subject. Here is the process for each board.

Rechecking at Pakistani boards means the board re-totals your marks and checks for counting or copying errors. It does not mean your answers are re-read or re-evaluated. Apply within 10 to 15 days of the result announcement. Missing the deadline means no rechecking for that year.

What Rechecking Does and Does Not Do

  • What it does: re-totals your marks sheet; checks that marks from the answer script were copied correctly to the mark sheet; checks for mathematical errors in totalling.
  • What it does not do: re-read or re-evaluate your answers; re-assess short or long answers; change marks based on the quality of your responses.
  • When to apply: you failed by a small margin; one subject mark looks much lower than expected; you suspect a totalling error.
  • When not to apply: you want an answer re-evaluated; you failed by a large margin; you know you did not write the correct answers.

Documents Needed for Rechecking

  • A copy of your online result card or result notification.
  • Your admit card (roll number slip) from the exam.
  • The rechecking fee: paid at a designated bank or online, depending on the board.
  • A completed rechecking application form (available at the board's office or portal).

How Long Does Rechecking Take

Punjab boards: rechecking results are usually published within 30 to 45 days of the application. FBISE: usually 20 to 30 days. Other boards: check your board's official website for the expected timeline.

If your marks change after rechecking, your board issues a revised DMC. You can then use the revised DMC for university admission. If you have already submitted your original DMC to a university, inform them of the revised marks and submit the updated DMC.

Rechecking vs Supplementary Exam

Rechecking and the supplementary exam are different. Rechecking challenges your current marks. The supplementary exam is a new sitting of the exam for subjects you failed. You can do both: apply for rechecking and also register for the supplementary, then withdraw from the supplementary if the rechecking reverses your fail.

Practical Subjects: Can They Be Rechecked

Practical marks at most boards are awarded by an examiner on the day of the practical. Rechecking of practicals is generally not available at Punjab boards. FBISE does not offer rechecking of practical marks either. KPK and Sindh boards vary. Check your specific board's rules before applying.
