Boards award positions to the highest-scoring students within each group and district.
Group positions
Top 3 students in each group (Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, Arts, Commerce etc.) within the board's jurisdiction. Positions are calculated on total marks across all subjects.
District positions
Some boards also announce district-level positions, identifying top students from each district covered by the board.
Prize distribution
Cash prizes and certificates are awarded at a ceremony. Punjab boards hold a joint prize distribution event through PBCC. Prize amounts are set each cycle.
Position certificate
Position holder certificates are issued by the board. They can be useful for merit-based university admissions and scholarship applications.
