About ICS

ICS Part 2: Computer Science at Intermediate Level

ICS is the computing and mathematics track of the Pakistani intermediate program.

Main subjects

Computer Science (theory and practical), Mathematics. Third subject: Physics or Statistics depending on the board and institution.

Computer Science practical

Most boards include a 30 to 50 mark practical component in Computer Science. Marks are awarded by the board examiner during the examination.

University admission

ICS qualifies for BS CS, BS IT, BS SE and similar programs. Some universities require an entry test (NTS, aptitude test) in addition to marks.

ICS vs FSc Pre-Engineering

Both include Mathematics. FSc Pre-Engineering adds Physics and Chemistry. ICS replaces Chemistry with Computer Science. For engineering universities, FSc Pre-Engineering is usually required over ICS.
